We are looking for an experienced leader with technical understanding and development skills to lead our technical Engineering, Design and Analytics team.

We are looking for an ambitious professional to become our new CTO! You will lead the product development of our SaaS product and build our growth story together with our global team. If you are ambitious to build great products, love working in a Startup, and want to create a product that thousands of people will use – you could be our next team member!

At the moment you might be a Fullstack developer taking the leap of faith or a veteran CTO — This is a rare opportunity to jump on board as a soon-to-be CTO for an established but groundbreaking product and company. As a CTO you will quickly become part of the management team if you are able to show appropriate leadership skills.

In this position, you would join our team in Helsinki, Finland.

The role:

Your main job is to be an expert in the inner workings of our product and work daily on the product and coding. On the side, you will lead and organize the tasks and the team using a model you’ve picked from your previous experience (Scrum, Kanban, etc) and work as part of the management team leading the vision around our product. You’ll also participate in product planning with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success after you have mastered the product and developing it.

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Bringing strategic direction and clarity around priority and roadmap
  • Leading the software development of Feedbackly products
  • Hands-on development and support in the development of our product together with the developers
  • Overseeing the data security of the company
  • Overseeing IT and software infrastructure
  • Work as part of the Feedbackly management team

  • Good communication skills in English (Native Finnish is considered a big plus)
  • Managing cross-cultural teams
  • Writing high-quality, robust, secure, and scalable code
  • Deep Experience with Node.js
  • Good understanding of Docker and containers
  • Confident with version control tools and CI / CD
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and Javascript
  • Can plan and code under the Microservices structure
  • Knowledge about Kubernetes
  • Experience with MongoDB is considered a big plus
  • HTML5 & CSS3 knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with some of the modern frontend frameworks, e.g Vue.js, React – Redux or AngularJS
  • Analytical thinking / problem-solving skills 
  • Being product-minded
  • Keen on details and passionate about adding more value
  • Being able to understand the difference between SQL/NoSQL databases

 

Nice to haves:

  • Experience from a high-growth technology startup company
  • Experience with Vue.js.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools: Jest, Jasmine, Mocha or similar
  • Previous experience in SaaS or analytics-focused/BI-product
  • iOS and Android experience is definitely a plus

 

About the position:

The work is full-time and can be done remotely partially but you should be able to stay at the office at Helsinki HQ at least 2-3 days a week. We are looking for committed employees, so we want to offer them the chance to get involved in the stock option program – we feel that every employee should be also an owner. In the CTO position, you will be offered a management team level option program.

This also supports our ideology of every worker as an entrepreneur. It also requires meeting up with the rest of the team at our yearly workcasions somewhere in the world (haven’t decided yet so ideas are welcome for 2023, needs to be the Sun and cheap beer to even be considered) – this year we went to Spain!

In a fast-moving environment, you should be willing to take risks and try a lot of new things. You will be a key part of our product development team so your work effort is immediately reflected in the final product that is used by hundreds of our customers on a daily basis – in addition to leading the work, you would need to love to develop yourself – this is what building together is all about after all. The team is tightly working together with the customer success team to bring the best to our customers. The team is still small but gives you the opportunity to build it toward your own vision.
